This was my first project for NCFL, and I was learning the best ways to work with my coworkers. It’s important to have a good working relationship with authors, other editors, and designers.
Additionally, it had been several years since I’d formatted for APA and there wasn’t a copy of the style guide anywhere to be found!
Since this experience, I’ve learned it’s my responsibility to ensure I have the necessary tools to practice my trade—thus, I subscribe to the APA Stylebook Online, the AP Stylebook Online, and I have a print copy as well as an online subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style.
